Building upon family recipes and a passion for the industry, Ozzie Fernandez, has combined several years of culinary talent and restaurant business expertise to create this unique fast-casual Mexican eatery. The first Izzo’s Illegal Burrito restaurant officially opened its doors on July 23, 2001, at the south gates of Louisiana State University (LSU) in Baton Rouge, LA.

Why I never tried this place is truly beyond me but Chipotle has nothing on this place. It’s like Chipotle but 1000x better. The shrimp nachos are so flavorful. 12/10.

This is our favorite burrito place!! Felipes and chipotle can't compete with their toppings. Also Izzo's is the only place that hasn't torn the tortilla when rolling my extremely full burritoes!! Great for families, dates, and single dining. Great kids meals, amazing service, always clean, and food is always fresh!! They even decorate for holidays. We always feel comfortable and welcome.

Came in and the service was great, been a minute since I came, a young man , who made me 2 burritos, think his name started with g, hat black hair and glasses, he was cool and made a great burrito, we left and ate, food was great and the rice was perfect, chicken was tender, guacamole was on point. It hit the spot
